Piemonte is well known for wine with some of the great Italian varietals. The food in the region is equally as dynamic and the combination of the two is amazing. These pages will be dedicated to exploring these unique combinations with recipes and a place to explore the special wine of the Nizza area.
VINICOLA ARNO
GROWING OUR GRAPES, DISCOVERING PIEMONTE FOOD
Vinicola Arno is in the Monferrato Hills in Mombercelli, Asti, Piemonte. The area is well known for the production of Barbera wine and is a designated UNESCO landscape. We are also in a designated zone for the production of Nizza Barbera a new a very unique Barbera wine. In December 2014 Nizza received its own DOCG designation. To qualify for Nizza, grapes must have a south- south west orientation, be on a slope, are a minimum of 12 months barrel aged. These wines are incredible and not well known outside of Piedmont and Northern Italy. You can find a good profile of the region at Italian Wine Central.
